Basic Dog Training
is offered with gentle,
positive reinforcement and is essential for a well behaved
dog and for your safety and your pets. A well trained dog is
more enjoyable to be around and less of a liability.
The cornerstone of dog
training is consistency and repetition with positive
reinforcement until your dog makes the connection between
your command and his/her action. Your dog needs to know that
you are in charge -- that you are the leader of the pack.
Training for a puppy will
be in short increments of time and increase in time as your
dog matures. This training should be a positive experience
for you and your dog and cease immediately if you feel
yourself losing patience. Treats can be a great reward for
your dog, but often your praise is enough to provide that
positive reinforcement.

lesson for you and your dog: Individualized training and demonstrations
to instruct you to train your dog to follow basic commands. |

Four lessons, one per week: Individualized training
working with you and your dog to teach basic verbal and hand signal
commands. Each lesson will teach you and your dog specific skills with
practice time to reinforce training and make corrections as necessary. |
